SPRING HAS SPRUNG, THE MAYFLIES IS RIZ! TROUT SEASON IS OPEN!

Once again Victorian anglers can walk their favourite streams in search of trout!

This is surely the most anticipated time of year for we that flick the fly, and this year it's lookinig like we are in for a great season, with good rainfall through Winter and into Spring, and good snowmelt coming down the high country rivers.

Is it for the coming year they were forecasting another locust plague? If so, I have been busy tying a heap of foam-bodied grasshopper patterns, plus crickets, cicadas and ants - all dependable Summer patterns.

So the trout will be looking up for their dinner and they're hard-wired for hoppers and whatever else is 'on the wing', so make sure you're ready for a great season of dry fly fishing.

Most of the lakes appear to be in good shape for summer too, and with the recent addition of allowing of using small water craft on Lakes Malmsbury and Tullaroop, things are looking good.
